The Cape York Weeds and Feral Animals Program undertake natural resource management activities involving weeds and feral animals throughout the region
Cape York Weeds and Feral Animals Program (CYWAFAP) is an independently branded division of Cook Shire Council (CSC), which operates primarily throughout Cape York Peninsula and occasionally across the tropics of northern Australia. While CYWAFAP’s core funding and responsibilities is to CSC’s local government’s pest management obligations, CYWAFAP also engages various grants and contracts from multiple levels of government, various organisations (usually also funded by government) and actively undertakes “Fee for Service” work in the context of recovering operational costs as a not-for profit community organisation.
Cape York Natural Resource Management (CY_NRM) is a major ongoing funder and supporter of CYWAFAP and works in close collaboration to deliver Pest Management across Cape York Peninsular.
